Houston Misdemeanor Warrant Search

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has taken some steps to make it convenient for Texans to find out if a warrant has been issued for their arrest. Although limited to misdemeanors, anyone can find out if they (or someone else) have a warrant issued for their arrest on for Class A or Class B misdemeanor.

Class A or Class B misdemeanor criminal offenses include crimes such as DWI first and second offense, prostitution, and possession of marijuana, trespassing, unlawfully carrying a weapon, public lewdness, public intoxication, and some theft offenses.

How to Search For a Misdemeanor Harris County Warrant

To search for misdemeanor warrants you can use the Harris County Sheriff’s office’s website.

On the Harris County shares website, which is linked below, you can search for misdemeanor warrants that are currently active by using the defendant’s first name, last name, birth date, or SPN number.

Misdemeanor Warrant Search: https://www.harriscountyso.org/JailInfo/warrantssearch (Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “agree.” Then you’ll be able to search.)

Houston Felony Warrant Search

Although there is no exclusive “warrant search” available for persons seeking information regarding felony warrants, the Office of Harris County District Clerk does have an online portal which can be used to search for records which can be sorted by status and will show if a warrant/citation has been issued.

How to Search For a Felony Harris County Warrant

To search for a felony warrant in Harris County visit www.HCdistrictclerk.com, click Online Services, and then select the Search Our Records and Documents option.

Next, click the criminal tab, then you can search by cause number or name. In theory, you can search by last name and get a list of everyone in the system with a pending trial or case that have the same surname. Under the status column you can see if a person is in jail, has posted bond, has had their case dismissed, or has a warrant issued for their arrest.

How To Search For Houston Municipal Warrants

If you have a warrant from the city of Houston, for a fine-only misdemeanor, the best way to find out is to contact the Houston city help line at 311, or 713-837-0311. By calling the Houston City Help Line you can find out if a person is in jail, if they have a warrant issued for their arrest, in addition to their bond him. To find out if someone is in jail use the link below.

How To Get an Arrest Warrant Lifted

If a warrant has been issued for your arrest you must act immediately to avoid jail. There are two options available to people have warrants for their arrest;
